Backdoor: Player makes a late hand that he wasn't originally drawing to. Catching both the turn and river card to make a drawing hand.

Back raise: A re-raise

Bad Beat: A usually unbeatable hand that is defeated by an even better hand.  This term refers to a heavy favorite in a hand who loses to an opponent who was a severe underdog statistically speaking.

Bet: To put money into the pot in harmony with the rules of the game.

Bet the Pot: Term used in pot limit games. It means the bet matches the current amount in the pot.

Big Blind: The larger of the two blinds typically used in a Hold'em game. The big blind is a full first round bet. In games using a blind to put money in play, the big blind is generally equal to the lower amount of the stakes for that game. In a $5/$10 game, the big blind is $5. The big blind follows the small blind, which is put up by the first player to the left of the dealer.

Big Slick: A nickname for A-K (suited or not).

Blank: A board card that doesn't seem to affect the standings in the hand.

Blind: A forced bet (or partial bet) put in by one or more players before any cards are dealt. The blinds are mandatory bets and rotate around the table.

Board:
All the community cards in a hold'em game (the flop, turn, and river cards together). The exposed cards in Hold'em and stud.

Bottom Pair:  A pair with the lowest card on the flop.

Bluff: A bet or raise made with a poor hand to entice the competition to fold.

Burn: To discard the top card from the deck, face down, prior to dealing. The intent is to minimize the risk of cheating by knowing the next card.

Button: A distinctive disk or token placed in front of the player sitting in the theoretical dealer's position, when a house dealer is used. The button rotates around the table so that every player has an opportunity to be the last to act.

Buy-In: An amount of money you pay to enter a tournament. The amount of money used to join a game.
